Quite Possibly The World's Worst Idea For a Business
Want to watch an exceptionally large pile of money disappear really, really quickly? Then keep your eye on the money invested in Spiral Frog , a new web service offering "free digital downloads". Well, hell.....free music sounds great, eh? Ah the fine print. Customers will have to listen to a 90 second commercial before each track downloads. Hey, that's fair, if a bit heavy handed......after all, money has to be made somehow. Alas, there is more. The tracks will not be compatible with iTunes or any iPod, and after six months the tracks will be magically deleted from your library. Can't you just picture the long lines to use this wonderful service?
This is a perfect example of an business idea being cobbled together by a bunch of executives in a room somehwhere with absolutely no connection to the real world. Every person who put money into this idea deserves to lose every bit of it just for the fact that they were stupid enough to buy in to it. I'll put the over -under on this company at around 90 days.
With such a great name and an even better logo (everyone loves drop shadows) how can you predict failure? Afterall, they are following the Seinfeld business model, creating a music delivery Web site that costs nothing, and in the end, offers you nothing.

I agree with your thoughts 100%. To clarify, your thoughts in the above post, not all of your weird and bizarre thoughts :)
