In what could possibly be the world's most pathetic news clip, British buzzriders The Arctic Monkeys have come out swinging against Live Earth , claiming that most participants are hypocrites because they ride tour buses and jets.
Do musicians or movie stars know any more than then common man about scientific matters? Of course not, with the increasingly possible exception of Bono. But leveraging your audience into humoring the case for something you believe in is a luxury that fame brings, and I applaud anyone who chooses to spend their time, energy and money on doing so.
i've never liked the arctic monkeys, but they're right.
